Snow blindness and welder’s flash
In occurs when the eyes are exposed to strong glare produced by the reflection of the sun on snow over prolonged periods, or with exposure ultraviolet light produced by welding.
The condition is diagnosed by the following features.
- There is an intense pain in the affected eye, like sand or pepper in the eye.
- The eyes are red, watering, and sensitive to light.
First Aid
- Wash the eye with plenty of cold water.
- Dress lightly with eye pads.
