The Rules for application of bandages on Arm Sling

A triangular bandage is used. It is prepared from a 90 cm square of linen, cut diagonally.

1. Place the apex of the triangle under the injured elbow.
2. Take the upper end around the back of the neck.
3. Take the lower end up and tie it to the upper end around the neck using a reef knot.
4. Bring the point at the elbow to the front secure it with a safety pin so as to form a pocket to support the elbow.
5. When the sling is tied well, the arm should be comfortable, lying just above the belt line. The wrist should not dangle.
