Taken in small frequent doses will stimulate stomach, heart and respiratory tract,. Good in rheumatic fever, sciatica, all bladder troubles and skin diseases. Valuable in colic. Expels gas. Good for dropsy, cystitis, stomach troubles, bowel obstructions. Oil is valuable in liniments. Poultice is good for boils, swellings, ulcers and felons. Good as a douche for leucorrhoea. Also for gargle for sore throat. Good wash for sore eyes. Large doses may cause vomiting. Indians used wintergreen berries as a very invigorating drink for the stomach. Wintergreen has a far – reaching effect. Penetrates every cell. Acts on cause of pain. For arthritis and rheumatism, the following recipe has proved effective. Using the oil of wintergreen, begin with one drop, three times a day, the first day. Two drops three times a day the second day. Increase the drops one each day until nine drops are taken. Then decrease a drop each day until none are taken.
