Mandrake: Podophyllum peltatum (May apple)

Ant bilious, cathartic, emetic, diaphoretic, cholagogue, alterative, resolvent , vermifuge, deobstruent.
Excellent liver and bowel regulator. Combine with senna. Has no equal in chronic liver disorders. Very beneficial to uterine diseases. Act upon all tissues and cells of the body. Valuable in hepatitis. One teaspoon to one pint of boiling water – one teaspoon of the tea at a time. Good in typhoid fever. A fine remedy when properly given in small doses.
Marigold: Calendula
Part used: Flowers and leaves
Useful externally and internally for cancers, wounds, ulcers, hepatitis and amenorrhoea. Makes an excellent salve. Tincture made of the marigold flowers acts like tincture of arnica for bruises and sprains. It is little less effectual in smallpox and measles than saffron.
