Lightning- Causes, effects and protective measures
Lightening is a phenomenon of high concentration static electricity generated in clouds passing to the earth through an object on the earth. If it falls on a person, it leads to shock and death. If the person survives, the treatment is as of severe electrical burns.
Protective measures for such occurrences are as follows.
- In an electric storm, do not stand in open or near fenced an electricity pole or a hillock.
- Take shelter in a building that has a device on its top for earthling lightening, or in a motor car. In a jungle, take shelter in a ditch, under thickly grouped trees, near the base of a hill.
