Dandruff
Dandruff is common scalp disorder affecting many men and women. A outer layer of dead skin from scalp flakes off regularly. It can cause in itching, redness of scalp or irritation. It is not contagious.
Possible Causes
- Overactive oil glands
- Excessive use of shampoo
- psoriasis, eczema
- Stress
- Overgrowth of Pityrosporum Orbiculare yeast.
- Fungal Infection
Ayurvedic Care
Shikakayee Concoction: Boil Shikakayee in water. Cool the mixture for 20 minutes. Apply this mixture on hair and wash it after 15 minutes.
Daruharidra Powder: Take 2 table spoon Daruharidra powder (Indian berberry). It has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Add it in 1 cup of boiled water. Once the mixture is cooled to room temperature, strain the mixture and apply strained water on hair after shampoo. Wash it after 5-10 minutes.
Yogurt or Buttermilk: Apply Yogurt or buttermilk to scalp for 30 min and then rinse.
