Heat Cramps
They in occur when one replaces the fluid lost in sweat by drinking water without salt.
The condition is diagnosed by the following features.
- There are intermittent painful contractions of skeletal muscles in the body.
- They occur in those muscles that have been involved in strenuous activity, usually those of the legs.
- Body temperature is normal or low.
- The cramps last a few minutes and generally disappear spontaneously.
First Aid
- Replace body sodium with salt tablets or electrolyte solutions.
- Shift him to a hospital if his conditions are severe or does not respond to treatment.
