जामुन
जामुन का वृक्ष बहुत लंबा चौड़ा तथा घना होता है | इसकी छाया भी धनी होती है, परंतु इस पर लगने वाले फल छोटे और पकने पर काले गहरे नीले रंग के होते हैं |
प्रकृति ने मानव जाति के सुखों तथा निरोगी जीवन को बनाए रखने के लिए जो उपहार दिए हैं; उनमें से जामुन को एक विशेष स्थान प्राप्त है | इसका फल गर्मी के मौसम में होता है | जामुन की खेती नहीं होती क्योंकि इसके बड़े वृक्ष प्रकृति रूप में ही बढ़ते हैं |
जामुन का रस बहुत रोगों का उपचार करता है | इसका फल तो अति गुणकारी है ही परंतु उसके अंदर से निकलने वाली गुठली (बीज) भी अनेक रोगों का नाश करती है, जामुन द्वारा हम निम्नलिखित रोगों का उपचार कर सकते हैं :
मधुमय (सुगर) रोग

यह श्लोक काफी लंबा है | इसका सार अर्थ इस प्रकार है – जामुन के वृक्ष की छाल कसैली, मलरोधक, पाक में मधुर रुचिकर, पित्तदाह्नासक, खट्टी, कंठ रोगनाशक, क्रिमि स्वास रोधक, अतिसार, खांसी, रक्त-विकार, कफ और व्रणनाशक होती है |

- जामुन की गुठलियों का चूर्ण, बनाकर काला नमक मिलाएं | इसे दिन में चार बार एक-एक चम्मच, पेचिश रोगी को खिलाने से पेचिश रोग ठीक हो जाता है |
