Effects of Temperature change and its factors
The human body has some mechanisms that help it adapt to changes in the environmental temperature. However when the changes are extreme and last for long duration, the protective mechanisms may fail, and the person may suffer from illness.
The following factors increase risk of adverse effects of extremes of temperature change on the human body.
- Infect and elderly people.
- People who are exposed to son of prolonged periods, e.g. soldiers, farmers.
- Individuals with medical disorders like diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, and obesity.
- Poorly insulated and ventilated homes congested neighborhood.
- Sedentary life styles.
- Low socioeconomic class.
