The Rules for application of bandages on Finger

  1. Start with circular turns around the wrist.
  2. Pass obliquely down the back of the hand to the tip of the finger.
  3. Wind spirals round the finger from its tip to its base. Leave the nail open to help diagnose too tight a dressing by presence of cyanosis.
  4. Return again over the back of the hand to the wrist. Fix it around the wrist.
  5. If only the tip of a finger is to be bandaged, lay a roller bandage along the front of the finger, from the palm of the hand. Turn it over the tip and return it along the lateral surface of the finger. Then cover the finger with spirals starting at the base of the finger.
