Yerba Mate

Some suggest using yerba mate in a reducing diet. It is supposed to lessen the feeling of hunger without fattening elements. Gives strength and endurance. Produces mental exhilaration with no subsequent organic or physical destruction. It is more stimulating than tea or coffee. Contains more chlorophyll than green or black tea. Under stress and strain, may be temporarily used as a substitute for solid food. Mate leaves contain 0.2 to 2 % theine, a stimulating principle Chinese tea contains form I to 5%. Mate contains far less  tannin, an astringent principle , than chinese tea
