Lightning- Causes, effects and protective measures

Lightening is a phenomenon of high concentration static electricity generated in clouds passing to the earth through an object on the earth. If it falls on a person, it leads to shock and death. If the person survives, the treatment is as of severe electrical burns.

Protective measures for such occurrences are as follows.

  1. In an electric storm, do not stand in open or near fenced an electricity pole or a hillock.
  2. Take shelter in a building that has a device on its top for earthling lightening, or in a motor car. In a jungle, take shelter in a ditch, under thickly grouped trees, near the base of a hill.
