Medicinal use of Eyebright, Fennel and Fenugreek

Eyebright: Euphrasia officinale 

Part used: Leaves

Tonic astringent

Coughs, hoarseness, headache, earache, sinusitis, dimness of sight ( to be used internally as well as an eye wash). Restores sight decayed through age. Said to restore sight to those who were blind a long time. Helps the memory.

Fennel: Foeniculum officinale

Part used: Seed and Leaves

Stomachic, carminative, pectoral, diuretic, diaphoretic, aromatic

Tea makes excellent eyewash. Relieves gas, helps acid stomach, good for cramp and for colic in infants. Eliminates poisons. Excellent for obesity. Increases menstrual flow of urine. Fennel boiled with barely is good for nursing mothers, increases milk. Stops hiccoughs.

Fenugreek: Trigonella foenum graecum

Part used: Seed

Mucilaginous, farinaceous

Poultice excellent for wounds. Tea is an excellent gargle for sore throat. Seed boiled in soy milk or nut milk is very nourishing. Excellent in fever. Cooling to bowels and lubricates the intestines. Be careful though, it is said to make people plum.
