Medicinal use of Colombo, Coltsfoot and Comfrey

Colombo: Cocculus palmatus

Part used : Root

Anti-emetic, tonic, febrifuge

One of the best and purest tonics to strengthen and tone up the entire system. Useful in fevers, excellent to allay vomiting in pregnancy; colon trouble, even of long standing: chronic diarrhea ,cholera. Taken after overreacting, is a good stomach remedy. Improves appetite. A bitter tonic.

 Coltsfoot : Tussilago farfara

Part used : Root and leaves

Emollient, demulcent, expectorant, pectoral, diaphoretic , tonic excellent remedy for sinusitis, and all lung troubles. very soothing to mucous membranes. Loosens phlegm in coughs, asthma, bronchitis, whooping cough, spasmodic cough, taken a cough syrup. Also good for shortness of breath ague and fevers.

Comfrey: Symphytem officinale

Part used : Root and leaves

Demulcent, astringent, pectoral , vulnerary, mucilaginous , styptic, nutritive

Powerful remedy in coughs, tickling coughs, sinusitis, lung trouble, asthma, ulceration of kidneys, stomach or bowels. For bloody urine. Fomentation wrung out of strong tea for bruises, sprains and fractures. Will relieve pain. Poultice of gangrene and moist ulcers. Poultice also gives relief to painful joints. Also good to make salve.
