First aid treatment of Cadmium poisoning its causes, prevention and diagnose-“Occupational Hazards”

Cadmium poisoning

It is a white, ductile, metallic element. It is present in zinc ores. It is used in atomic reactors, electroplating, manufactures of alloys , and rechargeable battery cells.

Its poisoning is diagnosed by the following features.

  1. Excessive salivation, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are present.
  2. Abdominal cramps occur.
  3. Headache is present.

First Aid

  1. Induce vomiting.
  2. Give gastric lavage with water.
  3. Give a saline cathartic.
  4. Shift him to a hospital immediately.
