It is common in gymnasts. It is due to repetitive forced extension of the knee. It causes compression and impaction forces on the wrist.
The condition is diagnosed by the following features.
- There is pain over the dorsum of the wrist.
- The range of flexion and extension at the wrist are limited.
- Give total rest initially to allow the pain to subside.
- Give paracetamol for pain.
- Advise exercises after the pain subsides.
