Medicinal use of Motherwort in Female Trouble, Cramp and Liver Disorders

Motherwort: Leonurus cardiac

Part used: Tops and leaves

Antispasmodic, nervine, emmenagogue, laxative, hepatic

Excellent results in female trouble. Useful in cramp, convulsions, hysteria, sleeplessness, delirium tremens, liver  disorders, suppressed urine, colds ( especially chest colds). Increases menstrual flow. Has excellent affect if   taken during  pregnancy. Expels worms. Strengthens the heart- two table spoonfuls of the infusion every two hours. An excellent and to digestion when taken at mealtime. A hot fomentation wrung out of strong tea will relieve cramp of menstruation.
